About me
Hi everyone! My name is Katarina and teaching has been my passion for as long as I can remember, both with children and adults. Before I got into the preschool world I managed various group homes in the Eugene/Springfield area for adults with IDD for about 3 years. My role was to support people with various abilities live their best life.
In 2022 I joined the Pearl Buck Center team, first in the Life Enhancing Activities Program (LEAP). This program offers opportunities to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to build social skills and to explore creative expression in a safe and cheerful environment. Then a few months later I joined onto the preschool team and have been there since! Currently I am a lead teacher/home visitor in the toddler classroom. I also facilitate a parent support group on Mondays for ages 0-2, teach a parenting class and am a community trainer.
Outside of work I am a huge home body and enjoy painting, cooking and playing games. I love anything to do with sensory toys and am very into Studio Ghibli. My favorite colors are green/blue and my favorite animal is a panda. I am also working on my degree in human services to better support my community.
